Button flower beginning sewing project

This is a super favorite project in our house and o hope you like it too. It’s perfect for beginners and for teaching how to sew a button!

You’ll need: 

felt cut into flowers & small circles 

a needle (we use no. 18 chenille needles for embroidery!) 

embroidery floss 

buttons 

scissors 

To assemble the flowers:

1- First choose your felt pieces and layer them together. 

2- Then sew up through the felt from the back and add your button. 

3- Sew the button in place and tie off the thread in the back of the flower. 

This button flower project has been a spring favorite ever since I received a bunch of similar supplies in a materials swap years ago! It’s such a fun project we’ve repeated it over and over again!
