About Me
I’m Sami, mama to E & J! Vermonter, progressive educator, self taught Montessorian, homeschooling mom, and lover of authentic block play.
I am a full time SAHM & homeschooling mom, but before that I got my masters of science in childhood & early childhood education. I was a classroom teacher and then school founder/director in independent, progressive schools for over 10 years before I left to stay home full time.
Block play is a passion of mine, and something I had the pleasure of studying in my post-grad work and through my classroom experience. I knew before E was even born that unit blocks would be the main focus of our playroom. That decision has not disappointed yet!
I love sharing about authentic, meaningful block play. Here, any block structure you see posted was built by kids. I believe strongly in sharing work thought up & created by children. I love to help educate others about what meaningful block play is, how you can support it, and how to uncover all of the learning that’s happening through play!
