A homemade gift for Sensory loving kids

I love creating gifts for kids that support child-led play. If you have a sensory play lover this one will be a total winner at the holidays (or any time of year!)

Just grab some containers and a bunch of favorite sensory play accessories to create the perfect choose-your-own-adventure sensory bin kit!

Here's how I set mine up:

For the containers:
Treasure Tubes - these tubes come in a set of 8 in 3 different sizes. They're made of perfectly transparent, heavy duty plastic and have wooden lids with a rubber gasket. They're very kid friendly to open and shut and stay beautiful for years! As much as I love a good old jelly jar for this stuff I also adore how little I have to worry about these containers breaking when my kids drop them.

For the fillings:
Sensory filler - I used a mixture of rainbow corn and white beans (this is a great way to extend a fancy filler - add something cheap to the mix!)
Felt balls - they're a great way to add color!
Glass gems - the weight and texture of these makes them so pleasing to scoop and pour!
Wooden sensory stones - these come in a big set of a bunch of different sizes and I only used the smallest ones here! They are beautiful and so open ended (you'll find so many ways to include them in play!)
Tiny sensory play tools (great selection here)
Mini LED lights - these come in a set of 12 and they will get used in ALL kinds of play! Highly recommend them for sensory play as well as block play!
Resin snowflakes - I wanted to include a seasonal detail in our kit and you can choose anything to go here! It might be good to pick an item here that fits a theme the receiving child loves!

You don't have to use these specific materials and it's always best to make sure you're choosing items with the specific child in mind for peak gift-winning!
